To be completely honest; I never thought I'd make it this far.
I'm still MASSIVELY arthritic in my hips. Lower back hurts when I'm not sitting / laying down. Knees are feeling worn some days. Been months since I attended Church.
Darcie and I marked our 4th Anniversary. Also; her 50th birthday. Both events I was unwell for...
... I owe my Wife a few Steak Dinners. We discovered a Keg Steakhouse franchise nearby and have already visited! It's become OUR nice dinner out destination of choice!
We're also contemplating a trip to Alberta; though Tire Chain season in the Rockies means catching a flight. Darcie is waiting on a windfall from a close friend. I, on the other hand; am waiting for TD Ameritrade's rules to roll over in the New Year so that we can draw some real income from the investment portfolio AND pay off our credit debt!
In the meantime; Darcie is drawing disabilities and I'm drawing CPP. CPP owes me about 24 months of back payments -- but I have already been told: "we can't help you, don't call again". Perhaps I should assume that some karmic balancing is due?
Nah. Not waiting for that. After the next election, I may have to contact my local MLA's office and see if they will take up the cause of recovering those back CPP payments!
In the meantime; life is good, I'm sleeping well, and while pain is a constant companion--
I've become sufficiently accustomed that although it's slowing me down, it's not stopping me!
Not permanently, anyways.
The Real hitch in the works is ... my gut.
I'm pleased to say that while my bowels and bladder are functioning normally; the Bowels have become very ... sensitive, of late. An inconvenient attack has already caused us to cancel one trip to Alberta. There are medications that aid with the symptoms, but they require careful use and fine timing.
Our apartment is dusty, there's crud on the counters; but with the exception of the bathroom -- where there's always a ready supply of cleaning wipes! -- we don't clean.
How we have avoided dysentery is a mystery. Or perhaps divine Providence.
